Herdsires
Red Lotus does not offer stud service.
I don't like to show bucks, either.
I firmly believe however that it really doesn't matter how a particular buck looks -- it's what he produces that counts.
You can have an outstanding buck that's got all of his titles, yet find he puts some pretty cruddy offspring on the ground. Whereas you might find a buck that's ugly as sin produces amazing offspring.
The proof is in the puddin'.

EXTENDED PEDIGREE
I need to get a new photo of Hook sometime, he's matured so nicely but he's on the 'porky' side right now. Hook is just so wonderfully put together. Hook is nicely squared with a lovely topline, long body and refined dairy appearence since his junior pic here, plus his rump has improved quite a bit. He stands on great feet and legs that are wide between the hocks, with an open escutcheon and nice rear angulation. He's also got nice flat ribbing, and wonderful dairy skin. I'd like his bones to be a little more flat and I'd love to see his neck longer. Hook has a fairly calm temperment, though certainly not a lap goat, plus he is polled -- the icing on the cake!
I would love to show him, but man is he wild! I can't wait to see his daughters when they freshen. His sire, Hero (a Weisbaden son), really puts some amazing udders on his girls. His dam was a FF but I would not have taken Hook home if I did not like what I saw, she had such a lovely udder!
Hook is putting some really correct kids on the ground, I'm shocked in the best of ways. So far Hook has shown me that he corrects rumps, making them more level and longer overall, plus toplines are very correct. His kids have great personalities and they are surprisingly dairy. His brisket and chest floor are really great and he improves these traits on his kids. I'm anxious to see his daughters freshen so I can see what he adds to them.

Super-uuber-huge thanks to Katie Lewis of Double SunDog Ranch!!!
I have been wanting Cosmo since I first laid eyes on him a few years back, and at that time he was still in California. But then my good friend Katie offered him for sale and now he is here with me!
What can I possibly say about Cosmo? He's amazing; he exudes dairy character with very open and flat ribbing, really nice pliable dairy skin, is so long and slightly uphill. I love the neck and head on this boy too, plus he's got good feet and legs. Very nice rump on him. And his personality can't get any better! He's very sweet and very easy to handle.
Cosmo's kids are here and I couldn't be more happy with them; really correct overall body structures, great dairy character with improved rib spacing and flat bones. He helps correct toplines and adds length. As soon as his daughters freshen, I'll know more on what he adds to that spectrum of things.
I cannot wait to get him hooked up with my girls. The udders in his line are truly extraordinary, going back to his paternal great-great-grand dam CH - ARMCH Buttin'Heads Wedding Song 3*D. Talk about the picture of what a Nigerian Dwarf should be, in my personal opinion! His dam has a very nice udder too, and his sire is another outstanding boy. Just can't say enough about Cosmo :)

EXTENDED PEDIGREE
I am so pleased to have this boy here, thank you Sharon!
Absolutely lovely, very dairy with flat bones and good show of dairy character and skin. Well-proportioned with nice width through the hocks, good front assembly and a level topline with tight withers and shoulders. Tight toes, really nice feet and legs. I would like it if he had a nice flat rump, but I have to wait until late spring before I can tell; it will be warm enough to shave him then. His siblings certainly have outstanding conformation. I'm fairly sure Comanche is going to be the smallest of my current bucks. Comanche is going to add a lot of desireable qualities I've been looking for in my herd, I can't wait to shave him! This little guy has the pedigree and milky genes I'm looking for, and hopefully he will improve my herd, sticking gorgeous udders on his girls. I am in love with his dam's udder, it's ever so lovely and exactly the kind I'm striving to work with. Big long milkable teats, high in the rear and tightly attached all the way around, smooth in the fore with no pockets, and capacious. He has multiple sisters in working herds earning their legs in show plus he has multiple brothers putting some fantastic offspring on the ground already. I am excited to use Comanche in my herd.
Comanche inheirited his *S and hopefully soon he will get his *B. |
